Instructions

  1. Don’t remove the lid yet. Watch as the white mycelium completely colonizes the substrate. This could take 1-2 weeks.
  2. When you see a small bump pushing up on the air filter it’s time to remove the filter. The mushroom is beginning to fruit!
  3. A humidity tent has been included. Spray the inside of the tent with water then put the tent over the top of the kit so that the diamond shaped holes are flush with the mushroom. Keep the tent inflated so it doesn’t lean on the mushroom.
  4. Make sure the inside of the bag stays humid by spraying the inside with water a few times a day or whenever it looks dry. We want a balance of fresh air and humidity.
  5. The mushroom is ready to harvest when the tines  are approximately ¼ “ in length.
  6. Lion’s mane puts a lot of energy into the first harvest so the 2nd one may take longer and not look as nice but it’s still fun to experiment and see what you can grow! After your first harvest remove the lid, spray the surface of the substrate and inside of the humidity tent then replace the tent. Set the lid aside. Continue to keep the surface of the mushrooms hydrated and the tent humid.
